Approximately 5 miles (8 km) north of Pocklington town centre, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, lies the sleepy hamlet of Garrowby. Garrowby Hill was made famous by artist David Hockney who captured its grandeur in an oil painting back in 1998. Hockney has always been known as a great lover of the Yorkshire countryside.
