The bus terminus, Railway Street

The photograph was taken around 1932. The bus was a Leyland owned and run by Everingham Brothers. The Everingham bus service in Pocklington operated from 1919 – 1953, after which the firm was sold to East Yorkshire Motor Services. The bus terminus operated outside the old family shop which was a Tailor and Outfitters. Everingham also manufactured suits and clothes in Railway Street in the place which today is the Kebab takeaway.
